about
Blue Gate Foundation is a grassroots charity that provides practical, hands-on support to vulnerable people in the UK and Africa.
In the UK, we carry out street outreach providing fresh juice, essential items, and guidance to support services. In Africa, we support communities through education and basic needs to help reduce poverty and create opportunity.
-
We act as a resource in Africa for young people, especially, but not exclusively, orphans living in said benefit areas, providing advice, assistance, and organising programs of physical and educational activities. While in the UK, the work we do centers on outreach, where we work not exclusively with people whose English is not their first language. We give out food and clothing according to their individual needs.
-
Relieving unemployment in Africa by having training centers for the less privileged girls/women, also empowering them with programs of skills acquisition that will enable them to start up their petty businesses.
-
Advancing in life by helping the less privileged young people in Africa by developing their skills, capacities, and capabilities, which will enable them to participate in society as independent, mature, and responsible individuals.
-
Advancing in their education. In Africa, we encourage parents to allow their children to access school by providing them with stationery and teachers to teach them in their rural community. Also, working in collaboration with the community to make the study environment a better place.
-
Providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for people living in the area of benefit who have needs by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons.
